Collective Soul has a fresh live set on the way

The guys of Collective Soul have unleashed details about their new live album, “Collective Soul — Live.” The set will arrive on Dec.8, and band members promise a collection of down and dirty rock ‘n’ roll tracks.

“We’re an honest rock n’ roll band,” frontman Ed Roland said regarding the album. “We’re not going to pretend like we’re something else. We’re not chasing anything. We are proud of our accomplishments and what we do. We pride ourselves on playing rock n’ roll….”

The footage compiled in “Collective Soul — Live” is taken from the group’s past two years of touring after the release of their newest studio album, “See What You Started by Continuing.” The guys performed more than 160 shows over those two years.

Collective Soul bass player Will Turpin recently caught up with Audio Ink and gave an update on new music.

“We’re more than half done with the new album! We’re going to tour this summer and wrap up some loose ends on the record in the fall, and then we’re looking at March or April– early Spring 2018 — for the release,” Turpin said. “When we get together, we still have songs that come right out, so it still feels good, as far as the creative.”
