Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider is back in the studio this month, working on a new solo album with production by Jamey Jasta of hardcore band Hatebreed. It’s a project that’s been in the works for a while now, and the as-yet-untitled album is expected to arrive sometime later this year. So, what should fans expect from the sound and style of the upcoming solo set? Snider gives a very small amount of insight in a new Instagram post.

“Enough with the holidays and sorrow! I need to rock!” Snider writes on Instagram, referring to the recent death of his mother. “Back in studio recording tracks for my new album with #JameyJasta! It’s sooo haaaaaaard! (That’s what they said!)”

As previously reported, the upcoming album will also feature some guest vocal work from Howard Jones of Killswitch Engage. Jasta announced that Jones would be part of the album last October with a tweet stating that he was engaged in a writing session with Jones. Having Snider, Jasta and Jones on the same set should be epic, not to mention that it will also hit several generations of heavy music fans.

In other news, Twisted Sister said goodbye to the metal world back in 2016 with a 40th anniversary farewell tour. While those guys won’t hit the road again, there’s a good chance Snider will embark on a solo tour to promote his new tunes late this year.
