Disturbed Working on New Music + Headlining 2018 Rock Fest
Disturbed is back this year in a major way. Not only has the band been posting some signs of new music on the way, but Disturbed has also booked their first major festival date of the year. David Draiman, Dan Donegan and the Disturbed crew will join Incubus and Godsmack as headliners for the 2018 Rock Fest, taking place July 12 through 14 in Cadott, Wisconsin. This marks the Chicago hard rock band’s first official appearance of 2018. Disturbed’s last full-scale tour happened back in 2016, and the guys headlined a slew of festivals that year, as well, including Rock on the Range.
Other acts confirmed for the Rock Fest lineup include Rise Against, Halestorm, Bush, Seether, Black Label Society, Dee Snider, Nothing More, Sevendust, Ace Frehley, Fozzy, Autograph, Red, Soil, Otep, Trivium, Pop Evil and Beartooth, to name a few. For the full lineup and additional information, head to the festival’s official website at Rock-Fest.com.
In other news, shortly after announcing their first show of 2018, the Disturbed crew teased new music ahead, which is something that had been on fans’ minds for a while now. On the band’s various social media accounts, the guys shared a photo of a mixing board in a recording studio. The caption of the photo reads, “Getting started…” with the hashtag #DisturbedOnes.
Whenever it arrives, the new album will mark Disturbed’s follow-up to their chart-topping 2015 album “Immortalized,” which featured the group’s crossover cover of the Simon & Garfunkel track “The Sound of Silence.” In other news, band members have kept busy with other projects. Draiman has another band, called Device, and bass player John Moyer makes music with former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal, Creed singer Scott Stapp and twin brothers Jon and Vince Votta in a rock group called Art of Anarchy.
