Goo Goo Dolls to Celebrate ‘Dizzy Up the Girl’ 20th Anniversary with Tour
‘Dizzy Up the Girl’ turns 20 this year, and Goo Goo Dolls are doing it up big
It may be difficult to believe, but two decades has passed since Goo Goo Dolls released their breakout album, “Dizzy Up the Girl.” Now, John Rzeznik, Robby Takac and company have announced a lengthy 2018 North American tour that will feature the Buffalo, New York, band performing the celebrated album from front to back.
“Dizzy Up the Girl” arrived in September of 1998 and has pushed six million albums worldwide since its release. Numerous tracks off the set are still staples on the airwaves, including “Iris,” “Slide,” “Black Balloon” and “Broadway.” Expect to hear all of those songs on this tour, as well as other Goo Goo Dolls hits.
Goo Goo Dolls didn’t just announce a new tour today. They also dropped a funny video to promote the trek, which is created to look like a movie trailer for a romantic comedy. The clip, which you can view below, features Rzeznik and Takac meeting each other for the first time and putting together a band. Eventually, the two decide to go on tour, and history is made.
The band’s “Dizzy Up the Girl” 20th anniversary tour will set off on Sept. 30 in Phoenix, Arizona, and run through a Nov. 18 show in Las Vegas. Tickets for the run will go on sale to the general public starting at 10 a.m. local venue time.
