Chris Cornell to Be Honored in Self-Titled Legacy Set

Listen to a previously unreleased Chris Cornell song called “When Bad Does Good”

Chris Cornell passed away last year, and fans who deeply miss the Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman should find plenty to like about an upcoming box set and separate, 17-track album being put together in honor of him. The collection, called simply “Chris Cornell,” is slated to arrive on Nov. 16.

In advance of the upcoming releases, Cornell’s widow, Vicky, has posted the previously unreleased track “When Bad Does Good.” Stream the song and check out the track’s lyric video below.

The “Chris Cornell” box set will feature the self-titled album, as well as 64 songs, including 10 other unreleased tracks and “selections culled from the deep catalogs of his three influential bands — Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog and Audioslave — as well as songs from his solo career,” according to a release.

“Since Chris’ sudden passing I have put all my efforts and energy into sharing his music and legacy with his fans from all over the world,” Vicky Cornell said in a statement. “I felt we needed to create a special collection to represent all of him — the friend, husband and father, the risk taker and innovator, the poet and artist. His soaring vocals found their way into the hearts and souls of so many. His voice was his vision and his words were his peace. This album is for his fans.”

The box set will also include 10 rare, unreleased live performances from Cornell — including a duet with his daughter, Toni Cornell, on Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song” — and music from Temple of the Dog’s 25th anniversary reunion concert in 2016.
