Staind Frontman Aaron Lewis Hints at a Band Comeback
Aaron Lewis says Staind “might” perform five shows this year
The guys of Staind haven’t done much since 2012, as frontman Aaron Lewis has been busy with his country solo music. But, is 2019 the year that Staind reunites for some shows? It’s possible, if you believe a recent announcement from Lewis.
While performing a solo concert in Oklahoma City last weekend, Lewis asked the audience, “So what if I told you that Staind is coming back next year?”
The crowd roared, and Lewis chimed in, “I might be lying, but I might not.” He continued, “There might even be five shows this year. I can’t say for sure. You never know.”
Five shows doesn’t really amount to a full-fledged tour, but it’s better than none. After the announcement, Lewis then started to perform an acoustic version of the Staind track “It’s Been Awhile.” Watch fan-filmed footage of the incident via YouTube below.
Since 2012, Staind has made a few appearances, mainly a handful of festival performances in 2014 and 2017. They haven’t released a new album together since their 2011 self-titled record.
Over the past few years, Lewis has released three country solo albums, his most recent set for release on April 12, “State I’m In.” He isn’t the only member of Staind who has kept busy, as guitarist Mike Mushok plays guitar in Saint Asonia, the band fronted by former Three Days Grace singer Adam Gontier.
