Songs by AC/DC, KISS and Guns N’ Roses get a makeover on Jesse Hughes’ new covers album

Eagles of Death Metal singer Jesse “Boots Electric” Hughes is gearing up to release a new covers album, scheduled to arrive June 7. On the album, called “Eagles Of Death Metal Presents Boots Electric Performing the Best Songs We Never Wrote,” Hughes tackles a bevy of classic rock and metal bands.

KISS’ “God of Thunder,” AC/DC’s “High Voltage/It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘N’ Roll)” and Guns N’ Roses’ “It’s So Easy” are among the songs Hughes covers on the set. He also honors his buddy and occasional Eagles of Death Metal band mate Josh Homme with a cover of Queens of the Stone Age’s “Long Slow Goodbye.”

Outside of the rock and metal worlds, Hughes also covers George Michael’s “Careless Whisper” and Mary J. Blige’s “Family Affair” on the album. “Family Affair” is available for purchase now through digital outlets.

Eagles of Death Metal’s latest album is 2015’s “Zipper Down.”
