Brent Smith and the guys of Shinedown have shared a new, delicate piano version of “Get Up,” a single off the group’s latest album, “ATTENTION ATTENTION.” Listen to the new version of the song via the Spotify player below.

In the new version, the usually guitar-heavy song is re-imagined with a simple piano riff, which really brings Smith’s powerhouse vocals to the forefront. The bare-bones approach is the perfect backdrop for Smith to sing about a very personal, real topic to the band– bass player Eric Bass’ fight with depression. The piano version of “Get Up” is available now at digital outlets.

“Get Up,” the original single, was a significant hit for Shinedown, as it climbed to No. 1 Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Songs. “Get Up” also broke a new record for Shinedown, giving the group the most Rock Airplay Top 10s ever and their 13th No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Songs chart, according to a release. That’s the second most in the history of the chart, tied with Van Halen.

In other news, Shinedown will kick off their intimate “An Evening with” tour this Monday (May 6) in New Orleans. The band will also hit the road on a major U.S. tour in June.

They’ll then kick off a full-scale U.S. tour in June. For Shinedown’s full 2019 tour roster, go here. Read Audio Ink’s review of Shinedown’s “ATTENTION ATTENTION” record here.
