Lzzy Hale and the guys of Halestorm have unleashed a new, acoustic version of their song “The Silence,” which is the final song on the group’s latest album, “Vicious.”

Without heavy guitars and rhythms, the unplugged recording gives Hale’s voice the opportunity to really shine. Watch pro-shot, in-studio footage of the song via YouTube below.

Halestorm released “Vicious” in July of this year. Halestorm has spent a large portion of the year on tour in support of “Vicious,” including a full tour opening for Alice Cooper over the summer.

Earlier this month, Halestorm released a special, two-LP edition of the band’s self-titled debut, which dropped one decade ago. The new package featured a bonus CD of demo recordings, plus new artwork a letter written by Hale.

Halestorm’s 2009 debut self-titled album hit the decade mark this year, and in honor of that milestone, the band will reissue the album on vinyl on Dec. 20. The special, two-LP edition will pack a bonus CD of demo recordings, plus new artwork a letter written by frontwoman Lzzy Hale.

“That whole time that we were in the process of making that first record, it shaped us, in the best ways and the worst ways. and we just wanted to share that with you,” Hale said in a video promoting the vinyl release. “It’s been fun going through all the old stuff, and I think we learned by going through this package that 10 year later on (their new album) ‘Vicious,’ we got very close to the beginning again, so it feel like we’re starting all over again. It’s a good feeling.”
