Papa Roach to ‘Look Back to the Early Years’ with New Project

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Papa Roach’s “Infect” album, and the band is working on a project in honor of the milestone

The guys of Papa Roach are reflecting on their musical roots for an upcoming project. As frontman Jacoby Shaddix tells Speaking with Metal Hammer, the longstanding rap-rockers are “putting together a piece to…look back to the early years and recap those moments.”

In addition to digging up older recordings, Shaddix says the band will re-record some of their earlier music for the upcoming release.

“There’s some remixes and that kind of stuff, just because we’re out of contract with the old music,” Shaddix told the publication. “It wasn’t about re-imagining what we do to it now. We matched it note for note, matched tones, I tried to get my voice to do the same little small inflections, so if we do remixes it sounds just like the track.”

As for when should fans expect the package to surface, Shaddix says he and the band plan to make some announcements about the project “in the middle of the summer for the fall.” They’ll schedule some special concerts around it, too.

Papa Roach’s landmark album, “Infest,” dropped in 2000, making this year the 20th anniversary for the set. The album featured mega hits such as “Last Resort” and “Between Angels and Insects.”

Papa Roach’s most recent studio album is 2019’s “Who Do You Trust?.”

Papa Roach recently postponed their remaining European tour dates due to concerns over the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, stating, “We are working with our team to reschedule these cities, but at the moment, nothing can be confirmed as the information is changing daily. Please be patient as we navigate through these necessary precautions. Hold on to your ticket and we will add a few more cities.”
