Slayer Guitarist Gary Holt Dealing with ‘All the Symptoms’ of Coronavirus
Slayer’s Gary Holt is self-quarantining and self-monitoring himself, as he experiences symptoms present with COVID-19
Gary Holt, guitarist of legendary metal bands Slayer and Exodus, says he’s currently experiencing “all the symptoms” of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Holt took to Instagram to announce that he’s “locked away” with his wife, Lisa, and “suffering from all the symptoms of Corona, without the beer!”
“Mildly sick, better today after repeatedly waking up soaked in sweat last night,” Holt added. “Self monitoring with my better half, and unfortunately, won’t be able to visit my grandkids until I’m symptom free for seven days.”
He went onto say that he’s using the downtime to watch movies and TV shows, while he waits it out.
Slayer wrapped up their final to in November of last year, before COVID-19 has really surfaced.
Many other musicians in the rock and metal communities have taken to social media to announce that they are dealing with COVID-19, many of whom recently came back to the U.S. following European tours. Slayer comrades Testament recently announced several crew members and vocalist Chuck Billy and his wife, Tiffany, have tested positive. Ozzy Osbourne producer Andrew Watt has tested positive for the virus, stating, “This is not a joke. Stay inside, stay sanitized. Please stop everything and take care of yourselves and the people you love around you, until we are all through this.”
Crown the Empire guitarist Brandon Hoover has also announced he has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
