Corey Taylor and Wife, Alicia, Launching a Food Truck; Discuss Concerts After COVID-19
Corey Taylor says that when concerts return after COVID-19, smaller shows will be the first to come back
The Taylors have something up their sleeves, and it has nothing to do with music. Corey Taylor and his wife, Alicia, are apparently working to launch a plant-based taco food truck. The news came during a recent interview the Stone Sour and Slipknot frontman gave with Rock Feed.
As they revealed during an interview with Rock Feed, in which he opened up about the vision for the food truck.
“The main focus was flavor, not just content,” Corey said. “People talk about vegan and they can become very pretentious. For us, it’s just about, ‘Look, we’re fat-a**es, man, we just wanna eat! We want some … food!’ This was a way for us to combine that with a healthier lifestyle.”
Switching gears to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, there’s been talk of shows returning– but much smaller shows that Slipknot is used to playing. When asked if Slipknot might be open to playing smaller venues once restrictions are lifted on more intimate spaces, Taylor joked that that the idea made his back hurt, but added that he and the guys of Slipknot have talked about the idea of doing smaller, “throwback shows” for years.
“We [would] wear the old gear as well,” Taylor said, but added that it’s just an idea, and not to get too carried away with it.
Taylor added that when shows do come back, they’ll “probably be in smaller venues,” because people are going to be scared. “Or maybe outdoor venues, where people don’t feel like they’re confined, they don’t feel like they’re too stuck together. There’s gonna be a sense of paranoia for a while — even after there’s a … medicine developed, or a vaccine. So it’s gonna take time…”
