Slay at Home Virtual Metal and Art Festival to Feature Two Days of Livestream Performances

More than 30 bands will perform at the debut Slay at Home Virtual Metal and Art Festival, and proceeds will benefit the MusiCares Covid-19 Relief Fund and Global Giving Coronavirus Relief Fund

Frank Godla of Metal Injection has announced the first-ever Slay at Home festival, featuring metal music and art to support MusiCares and Global Giving.

The festival will feature two days of livestreamed performances from more than 30 bands, a dozen cover song collaborations, special guests, commissioned music that will debut at the festival, art installations and more.

“The Covid-19 pandemic has affected nearly everyone on the planet, and sadly some of the last people to get their lives back will be the ones we depend on to get us through these times,” Godla said in a statement.

He added, “I wanted to create a platform that aids artists, their crew, and global healthcare efforts alike. The experience of a live concert is irreplaceable, but my aim with Slay At Home is to provide every person in the world an experience they haven’t seen yet, right from their own devices. I’ve never been more proud to be part of the metal community and have so many great friends willing to join the fun, as we support two great organizations.”

The festival will run on May 29 and 30 via the Metal Injection YouTube page. The stream will be free, and donations will be taken via www.slayathomefest.com , with all proceeds benefiting the MusiCares Covid-19 Relief Fund helping artists, crew and industry workers during financial crisis, as well as the Global Giving Coronavirus Relief Fund,which helps front line workers in need.

Bands and artists slated to perform at Slay at Home include Tesseract, Darkest Hour, Twelve Foot Ninja, O’Brother, Der Weg einer Freiheit, Silvertomb, Astronoid, Contracult Collective, Myrone, A.A. Williams, Pustulus Maximus (GWAR), Johnny Kelly (Silvertomb / Type O Negative), Ash Pearson (Revocation), Brody Uttely (Rivers Of Nihil) and more.
