Disturbed, Deftones Reschedule Summer Tours to 2021
This week has brought massive summer tour cancellations and postponements, and the latest are tours from Disturbed and Deftones
Two more major summer tours are being pushed into next year due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic: Disturbed and Deftones.
Disturbed’s “The Sickness 20th Anniversary Tour,” which also features Staind and Bad Wolves, is moving to summer 2021 because of, well, the sickness. The North American tour was scheduled to kick off in mid-July and run through mid-September.
Disturbed announced the news via social media, stating, “Hello Disturbed Ones! We hope you and your families are all doing well during this crazy time. We have waited as long as we possibly could to finalize the plans for our 20th Anniversary of ‘The Sickness’ summer tour. We had hoped that there would be some clear direction and guidelines on how mass gatherings would be conducted this summer. Unfortunately, that clarity has not come and out of an abundance of caution we have made the decision to reschedule until next summer. We are working to get these dates rescheduled and look forward to sharing an update soon.”
When the dates are rescheduled, ticket holders will be able to use their current tickets for the new date, and refund options will become available via Live Nation.
Deftones’ U.S. summer 2020 tour is also moving to summer 2021. The tour, which also featured Gojira and Poppy, was set to kick off in late July.
“Due to the current regulations, and uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, we must reschedule our North American summer tour dates,” Deftones said in a statement.
Previously purchased tickets will be honored at the to-be-announced shows, and refunds will also be available via Live Nation.
These two tours are the latest in a long list of tour cancellations and postponements. Other acts that recently announced canceled or postponed tours include the Green Day, Weezer and Fall Out Boy Hella Mega stadium tour; Breaking Benjamin’s tour with Bush, Theory of a Deadman, Saint Asonia and Cory Marks; Incubus’ tour with 311 and Badflower; and Megadeth and Lamb of God’s tour with Trivium and In Flames.
