Anthrax Kick Off Video Series to Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of ‘Persistence of Time’
Anthrax will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their “Persistence of Time” album in August
Thrash metallers Anthrax have kicked off a six-part video series discussing the making of the band’s 1990 album, “Persistence of Time.” The seminal record turns 30 this year.
In the first video in the series, called “Dali,” drummer Charlie Benante talks about how the name of the album, “Persistence of Time,” was inspired by the famous Salvador DalĂ painting, “The Persistence of Memory.” Watch the full episode below via YouTube.
In honor of the 30th anniversary of “Persistence of Time,” Anthrax is also releasing a deluxe reissue of the record, which will arrive Aug. 21. The reissue will be available only on disc and vinyl, with the CD package including two CDs and one DVD, and the the vinyl edition featuring four LPs and a revised cover art that “reflects what had been the album’s original visual concept.”
The reissue features a full remaster of the original album by Paul Logus, who mastered Anthrax’s
“Worship Music” and “For All Kings” records, as well as the “Anthems” EP and the DVDs “Kings Among Scotland” and “Chile on Hell.” Other goodies include bonus B-sides, live tracks, special recordings from “Charlie’s Stash” and an collection of Anthrax music from the band’s rehearsals, writing sessions, pre-production sessions and more.
