Alice in Chains to Release ‘Facelift’ 30th Anniversary Edition
Alice in Chains will release a special, 30th anniversary edition of their 1990 debut album, “Facelift,” featuring a plethora of bonus items
Alice in Chains’ seminal 1990 debut album “Facelift” is getting repackaged and rereleased in honor of its 30th anniversary.
The legendary Seattle rock band has announced a deluxe edition reissue for the album, hitting stores on Jan. 29, 2021.
The deluxe package packs the original record on two picture disc LPs with remastered audio, plus a special cassette, an Alice in Chains poster and tour laminate, a hard cover photo book and more memorabilia that celebrate the band’s 30th year.
While the deluxe edition features all of the aforementioned bonus items and goodies, fans may also opt for the much simpler standard edition, which just packs the original album remastered on two black LPs. The standard edition will arrive well before the deluxe edition, on Nov. 13.
Both “Facelift” editions are available for pre-order via Alice in Chains’ online store.
“Facelift” first arrived on Aug. 21, 1990, and marked Alice in Chains’ introduction to the rock world, with their sound that combined the raw “grunge” elements of the Seattle scene with a touch of late-’80s glam. The album featured the rock hits “Man in the Box,” “Bleed the Freak” and “Sea of Sorrow.”
Alice in Chains released their latest studio album, “Rainier Fog,” in 2018.
