Pearl Jam, Metallica Top the List of Streaming Concerts for the Past Year
According to Bandsintown, Pearl Jam and Metallica were the two most watched artists on streaming platforms over the past year
There’s no denying Pearl Jam’s popularity and staying power, and now, the band has bragging rights when it comes to their streaming concerts. According to a new Bandsintown survey, Pearl Jam has been the No. 1 artist of the past year in streaming concerts.
Bandsintown analyzed data of “fan RSVPs to livestreams and archival concert performances” to discover which bands and artists have been watched the most since the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic started back in March 2020. Pearl Jam came in at No. 1, followed by the kinds of metal, Metallica, who were doing “Metallica Monday” streams early on during the pandemic. Other bands and artists that have been streamed extensively include Billie Eilish, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Snow Patrol, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Dave Matthews Band, Coldplay, Radiohead, The Lumineers, The Rolling Stones, Five Finger Death Punch and Death Cab for Cutie.
According to Bandsintown’s survey, and 86% of music lovers have watched a concert livestream over the past year. Meanwhile, 85% of musicians think they’ll make streaming a “permanent part of their performing plans,” even when live, in-person music is back.
