Maynard James Keenan Shares ‘An Easter Story’ Short Film
Maynard James Keenan discusses what spring, eggs and life mean to him in a new, short film, called “An Easter Story”
Tool, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer frontman Maynard James Keenan has shared a short movie in honor of the Easter holiday. The video clocks in at around seven minutes and starts with Keenan detailing a recent experience he had searching long and hard for one of the ducks he has been raising at his place in Arizona.
First of all, the fact Keenan has posted a video about ducks is enough to make any Tool fan curious to watch the clip. In the video, called “An Easter Story,” Keenan is depicted looking for the duck throughout his property, which is also where his winery is based. Keenan finally finds the duck, and she’s sitting on a collection of just-laid eggs.
Keenan goes on to say that finding the missing duck reminds him of looking for Easter eggs as a kid. He talks about how eggs are a major part of the Easter season, and then, in typical Maynard fashion, he delves into some philosophical discussion about the meaning of life and springtime. As he’s narrating the short video, Puscifer’s song “The Humbling River” can be heard in the background. Watch Maynard’s “An Easter Story” below via YouTube.
In other news, Keenan and his band mates in Puscifer are prepping for upcoming streaming concert, in which they’ll perform their 2015 album, “Money $hot,” from front to back. The virtual concert will debut April 17. Puscifer released a new album last fall, called “Existential Reckoning,” and also performing a streaming concert in honor of that release.
