Korn New Album Update: We ‘Just Got Done Writing a Record’
Jonathan Davis says Korn has been working hard on their follow-up to 2019’s “The Nothing”
The guys of Korn apparently used their time in quarantine wisely and recording new music. In a new interview with Kerrang!, frontman Jonathan Davis explains that the nu-metal band “just got done writing a record.”
Even though the album is pretty much in the can, that doesn’t mean it’s going to come out tomorrow. Right now, as Davis explains, the guys are stationed across the U.S., which makes plotting out new album details difficult.
“The band is in different spots all over the place now, too,” Davis said. “I’m in Bakersfield, [California], a couple of guys are in L.A. and a couple of guys are in Nashville. It’s like an act of God to get us all together to do anything. We have to plan that all out!”
In other news, Korn is prepping for a new streaming concert, debuting this Saturday (April 24). The event was filmed from Stranger Things: The Drive-Into Experience, a Los Angeles spot inspired by the popular Netflix sci-fi show.
Korn is also slated to perform at the inaugural Upheaval Festival in Grand Rapids, Michigan, this summer. The event, which is scheduled for July 16 and 17, was originally slated to debut last year but got pushed into 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Korn will also headline the 2021 Rock Fest, scheduled for July 15 through 17 in Cadott, Wisconsin.
Korn’s latest studio album is 2019’s “The Nothing.” The album brought another chart-topping rock single for Korn in “You’ll Never Find Me.”
