Nirvana: Nevermind 20th Anniversary Reissue is available today

Say you missed the killer VH1 airing of Nirvana’s “Live at Paramount” concert, resurrected from the band’s 1991 concert at Seattle’s famed Paramount Theatre? Don’t sweat it. Nirvana enthusiasts may travel to Vevo.com today (Sept. 27) for an exclusive, commercial-free, 24-hour on-demand showing of the band’s performance of “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” “In Bloom,” “Polly” and more.

The concert may be viewed across the world at Vevo, YouTube and Vevo Mobile today, starting at 12 noon ET. The original concert, of course, happened on Halloween of 1991, and the 24-hour encore will also broadcast Monday, Oct. 31, in honor of the real 20th anniversary of the show. What’s more, the Vevo airing will offer never-before-seen portions of the concert.

For those who want to own the collection for good, “Life at Paramount” is part of the Nevermind anniversary “super-deluxe” set, which is now available via Universal Music Enterprises. The four-CD, one-DVD array is available exclusive to Best Buy through Oct. 24, and it includes everything from a re-mastered original album to old fashioned, boombox recordings of band rehearsals in a Tacoma, Wash., barn. While that group runs a healthy $136, fans may also grab a two-CD deluxe edition for $20 and a re-mastered Nevermind for just $11.

Former Nirvana drummer and current Foo Fighters frontman recently stated Nirvana’s Nevermind turned out “exactly like I hoped it would,” from the album’s raw production to its grungy, brilliant songs.
