Avenged Sevenfold New Album Update: ‘It’s Unlike Anything We’ve Released’
Avenged Sevenfold are wrapping up working on their album and say it’s ’90 percent’ finished
Avenged Sevenfold have been toiling away on a new album, which fans have been patiently waiting for since 2016’s “The Stage.” It appears the band is nearing the end of the recording process, as Avenged Sevenfold drummer Brooks Wackerman has posted that the group is “90 percent” done with the album. Musically, it’s totally different from previous Avenged records, according to Wackerman.
Wackerman and Avenged Sevenfold frontman M. Shadows took to social media on Wednesday (Feb. 9) to give fans a glimpse inside the recording process. They posted photos from a recording session for the album, which involved a grand orchestra. View the Instagram posts at the bottom of the story.
“Well, this happened on Tuesday,” Wackerman stated in the post. “We, Avenged Sevenfold, started writing this record four years ago, and I can’t believe we are 90% done.”
He added, “One of the perks in the creative process is that we are able to track a 78-piece orchestra on our records. The fact that we are able to bring incredible musicians together to enhance our art still gives me chills. I can’t wait for the world to hear this. All I can say is it’s unlike anything we’ve ever released.”
Shadows commented alongside a range of studio photos, “Twas worth the wait.”
Previously, the band had teased a summer 2022 release for the new album. The update seems to be on track with that projection.
In other news, earlier this year, Avenged Sevenfold made a fan’s day – maybe life – by surprising them with an autographed guitar. The band also just passed what would have been the 41st birthday of original Avenged Sevenfold drummer Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivanon Feb. 9.
