Bush is Here to Stay, Says Gavin Rossdale
Gavin Rossdale is 100% behind his rock band Bush
From the Smashing Pumpkins to Soundgarden, alternative rock bands of the ‘90s are enjoying a bevy of fuzzy-warm reunions as of late. Add post-grunge masters Bush to that list. The Gavin Rossdale-fronted outfit behind “Machinehead,” “Glycerine” and “Comedown” have a new album out, The Sea of Memories, and a top rock single with, “The Sound of Winter.”
Rossdale is one of the most recognized frontman in alternative folklore, but if you ask him, the best part about being a “rock star” is simply being able to make music for a living. “Success to me is being able to exist and do what you love,” Rossdale told Reverb. “Even now, I sit on my bus and drive away from shows, and I feel like I’m still getting away with it. You need that simple appreciation of being given the freedom to do what you love.”
A decade after Bush’s forgotten cavort song Golden State, Rossdale seems rejuvenated, ready to bring back loud, polished, sonic candy with original drummer Robin Goodridge and new guitarist Chris Travnor and bass slinger Corey Britz. He’s ready to embrace his innate ability to please massive crowds with pop-grunge ditties. That means that days of Rossdale’s ill-fated group Institute are over.
“… This is where I belong. I live and die on this moment. I live and die by this process,” Rossdale said of his first musical love. “This is where I belong, in Bush.” (Photo via Facebook.)
