Jinjer are raising funds to support their people in Ukraine as war rages on in their country

Ukrainian metal band Jinjer have dropped off their Spring 2022 U.S. tour, including dates on the road with Slipknot, to shift their attention to the devastating war in their country. The group is also raising funds for Ukraine via a new merch capsule.

Jinjer were scheduled to appear on the first leg of Slipknot’s “Knotfest Roadshow” U.S. run, and they also had some other concerts lined up with In This Moment and a handful of headlining dates. Now, instead of playing rock shows, the band is focusing on the war in Ukraine, as Russian President Vladimir Putin decided to send troops into the country last week.

Jinjer previously released a statement when the war started, stating, “Putin started the war against the sovereign and independent Ukraine… NOTHING can justify the violence and death of innocents, and this is exactly what’s happening in our country right now.”

The band is raising funds for humanitarian relief in Ukraine and is selling T-shirts for the cause. One shirt features the band’s logo with a peace symbol, and the other states “We Want Our Home Back.” For more information and to find the T-shirts online, go here. All proceeds go to charity organizations picked by Jinjer.

“Thank you all for your concerned messages and prayers sent to us over the last week, we may not answer but we are reading them and they mean the world to us,” Jinjer bassist Eugene Abdukhanov said in a statement. “As you know, there is war raging through the streets and cities of Ukraine right now. Many people have little or no food or water and are very afraid of what tomorrow may bring.”

He added, “Together with Napalm Records, we’re releasing two new T-Shirt designs to raise funds to be donated to various charities throughout Ukraine to help with medical and food supplies, water and so on. If you cannot donate then please share this or any news related to what’s really happening here. Each sale may save somebody’s life in Ukraine. Thank you.”

The “Knotfest Roadshow” tour will kick off on March 16 with Slipknot and In This Moment. Wage War have been added to the lineup in place of Jinjer. So far, Jinjer’s upcoming Latin American tour and summer European festival dates are still a go.
