Mudvayne have plans to release new music, their first since 2010, says vocalist Chad Gray

Mudvayne recently reunited for a collection of festival appearances, and now, there’s apparently new music on the way. The news comes from a recent appearance by lead vocalist Chad Gray on Avenged Sevenfold bassist Johnny Christ’s show, “Drinks With Johnny.”

As the conversation came to an end, Gray began discussing new music. In the process, he stated that he thinks Mudvayne will start writing new tunes soon, which could make up an entire new album of music. Of course, the big difference is that drummer Vinnie Paul won’t be on the new music, as Paul sadly passed away in 2018. Stone Sour drummer Roy Mayorga has stepped in on drums since Paul’s passing. “Mudvayne is hopefully going to be working on some new s*** soon,” Gray said during the chat. Avenged Sevenfold has new music on the way, too, and Gray added that he’s stoked to hear the new stuff. The two implied a possible tour, or at least some shows, together, too.

“I can’t wait to definitely get our heads together,” Gray added. “Maybe we could do some touring or something someday.”

Mudvayne reunited last year following a breakup in 2010. They performed their first reunion show back together at Ohio’s Inkcarceration festival. The upcoming album will mark Mudvayne’s follow-up to their 2009 self-titled release.
