Ozzy Osbourne Performs at Halftime of NFL Rams-Bills Game: Watch
Ozzy Osbourne was tapped to perform at one of the biggest NFL kickoff games of the season
Ozzy Osbourne recently announced his first gig in a while, as the metal icon had experienced a plethora of setbacks that have kept him off tour for several years. For the first time in a while, Ozzy took the stage Thursday (Sept. 8) at the halftime of the NFL’s season-opening game between the defending Super Bowl champs the Los Angeles Rams and the Buffalo Bills at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
Ozzy is out in support of his new album, “Patient Number 9,” which hit stores the following day (Sept. 9). At the event, Ozzy performed a multi-song medley. What’s wild and making headlines is the fact that NBC only showed about 10 seconds of Ozzy’s performance on national television, leaving metal fans very disgruntled.
This wasn’t Ozzy’s only appearance as of late. The Prince of Darkness recently made a surprise appearance in his hometown of Birmingham, England, and performed “Paranoid” with Black Sabbath bandmate Tony Iommi at the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games. That show marked his first live performance in roughly three years.
In other news, Ozzy recently announced that he’s moving from L.A. back to England. Recently, he came out and said the main reason for the move is the high number of mass shootings and general divisiveness in the United States.
Ozzy’s new album, “Patient Number 9,” is a star-studded set, offering guest appearances from Iommi, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Mike McCready, Zakk Wylde, Robert Trujillo, Duff McKagan, Chris Chaney, Chad Smith and late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins. To help promote the new album, a giant inflatable Ozzy is being taken across the U.S. to get fans pumped for the release. Check out a video of the inflatable here.
