Primal Fear Announce New Album, ‘Code Red’
“Code Red” will mark Primal Fear’s 14th studio record
Primal Fear have announced their 14th studio album, “Code Red.” The set will arrive on Sept. 1.
“Code Red” marks the German power metal band’s first full-length album in three years. It’s also their follow-up to the band’s 2021 “I Will Be Gone” EP.
Longtime bass player Mat Sinner produced “Code Red,” and vocalist Ralf Scheepers and guitarist Tom Naumann co-produced it. Primal Fear engineer Jacob Hansen mixed and mastered the set at his own Hansen Studios in Denmark. The guys are still putting the finishing touches on the album, according to a release, and have yet to release any proper music off it.
As for the meaning of the set, Sinner commented in a press release, “The world is in a state of emergency, one catastrophe follows another. Code Red is our statement about the present and the title of our upcoming 14th studio album, which will be released directly at the tour start on Sept. 1. According to its title, it will be a heavy, powerful, and uncompromising record — 110% PRIMAL FEAR!”
In addition to the album news, Primal Fear have announced a handful of European tour dates running through early September, right around when the album is released. “Primal Fear wouldn’t be Primal Fear if they didn’t announce the first leg of their upcoming European tour, as well,” the press release states. “Kicking off with a hometown show at Stuttgart’s Im Wizemann venue, the run will also lead the “eagles” to many other countries beyond Germany and Switzerland.” Special guests on the tour will be The Unity featuring members of Gamma Ray, Edguy, Primal Fear and more. A press release also promises that, “additional dates will be announced in the weeks to come.” For more on Primal Fear and to keep up with their tour dates, visit the band’s official Facebook page.
