Kiss have announced their very final gigs

Longstanding rock band Kiss have been touring on their “End of the Road” world tour for several years. Considering the track record of bands claiming they’re going to retire and then quickly coming out of retirement to do a full tour, many fans have been skeptical of whether Kiss is really going to call it quits.

But, on Wednesday (March 1), Kiss went on “The Howard Stern Show” on SiriusXM and announced their final shows (via Blabbermouth.net). According to the band, Kiss’ last gigs will be played on Dec. 1 and 2 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Kiss started their farewell tour in January 2019. Of course, the trek was but on hold in 2020 due to the worldwide pandemic, but as soon as the band was cleared to hit the road again, Kiss started back out on their farewell run. Due to the pandemic, the end of Kiss’ “End Of The Road” tour was pushed back, originally scheduled to wrap up on July 17, 2021, in New York City.

In a new interview with LouderSound.com, Paul Stanley discussed how meaningful the final shows have become to the guys of Kiss. “These shows become that more precious and meaningful as they dwindle down,” he said. “But while they’re dwindling, we’re going to kick as much ass and blow up as much stuff as possible.”

Stanley added, “Well, no, but then I also didn’t imagine I’d be talking about the tour being put on hold due to a global pandemic that claimed millions of lives. There are still places to go, and it’d be unfair, not only to the fans, but also to us, to not get to fulfil what we set out to do, which was basically to play for all our fans all around the world one last time.”

He concluded, “The end is clearly in sight, I know that this is finite, and I know that we have more shows behind us than in front of us, but nonetheless, there were some places where the demand was overwhelming and we returned to some of those places. And it’s interesting, because the only people that that bothers, are the people that don’t like us, and I couldn’t give a rat’s a** about those people.”
