Organizers for Bamboozle 2023 reportedly failed to meet the deadline to submit final documents to get a local permit

Bamboozle 2023 was slated to take place next weekend, but the festival has been canceled. As for why, the festival’s home city – Atlantic City, New Jersey – refused final permits. Anyone who purchased a ticket to the event will be able to obtain refunds at point of purchase.

A spokesperson for Atlantic City confirmed to NJ.com that the festival would not be granted its final permits. The organizer were simply unable to meet the deadline to submit final documents.

“After extensive discussions, we have made the heartbreaking decision to cancel Bamboozle 2023,” the festival’s organizers said in a statement on the event’s official website. “An incredible amount of time, dedication, passion and hard work was invested into making this comeback a success. We appreciate everyone who supported this festival. Refunds should be requested at point of purchase.”

This isn’t the first hiccup in Bamboozle 2023. Before the cancelation, fans were trying to get refunds after the festival was unable to snag top headliners. The festival also fielded complaints from attendees who bought tickets at early bird prices that were higher than more recent deals.

Bamboozle was set to take place on May 5 through May 7 at Bader Field in Atlantic City. The festival was making a comeback after 11 years away. Performers included Limp Bizkit, Rick Ross, Steve Aoki, Flyleaf, Papa Roach, Say Anything, Bad Omens, The Arcadia Strain, Motionless in White and more. The event was also going to feature Finch performing “What It Is to Burn” for the album’s 20th anniversary. Moreover, Saves the Day was scheduled to perform “In Reverie” for its 20th. Time will tell if Bamboozle tried to make a comeback once again next year, but it’s not looking promising.
