The Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, will no longer appear at Power Trip music festival

Ozzy Osbourne is bowing out of his scheduled performance at the Power Trip festival because of health reasons. The festival will reportedly announce a replacement soon.

Osbourne was set to be part of Power Trip’s mega lineup. Additional headliners include Metallica, AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, Iron Maiden and Tool, among others. The even will take place from Oct. 6 through 8 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, the same area where Coachella takes place. For information on the festival, visit Power Trip’s official website.

Regarding the cancelation, Osbourne issued a statement saying, “As painful as this is, I’ve had to make the decision to bow out of performing on Power Trip in October. My original plan was to return to the stage in the summer of 2024, and when the offer to do this show came in, I optimistically moved forward.”

He added that his “body is telling me that I’m just not ready yet and I am much too proud to have the first show that I do in nearly five years be half-a**ed. “The band that will be replacing me on Power Trip will be announced shortly. They are personal friends of mine and I can promise that you will not be disappointed.”

It’s been years since Osbourne has performed a full concert. His last show as in 2018, although he has played a few events, such as the NFL halftime show for the Los Angeles Rams. He also played at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games with Iommi Iommi. But, it appears that whether Osbourne will even play a full show again is anyone’s guess.

At the end of the note, Osbourne thanked his fans, band and crew for their “unconditional loyalty and continual support.” He also said that he loved them all and “will see you soon,” signing it, “God bless, Ozzy.”
