Aerosmith Postpone Tour Dates Due to Steven Tyler’s Vocal Issues
Aerosmith are postponing a handful of farewell tour dates due to Steven Tyler’s vocal issues
The guys of Aerosmith are embarking on their big farewell tour, but that goodbye will come a bit later. In a message posted to social media on Monday (Sept. 11), the band announced that they’re postponing a handful of dates on their tour due to lead vocalist Steven Tyler’s vocal issues. Specially, he needs to rest his vocal cords.
“I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days,” Tyler wrote on the band’s social accounts. “I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding. We’ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve.”
The rescheduled dates include stops in Detroit, Michigan; Chicago, Illinois; Washington D.C.; Toronto, Canada; Raleigh, North Carolina; and Cleveland, Ohio. The rescheduled dates are as follows:
Jan. 29, 2024 – Detroit, MI – Little Caesars Arena
Feb. 14, 2024 – Chicago, IL – United Center
Feb. 17, 2024 – Washington, DC – Capital One Arena
Feb. 21, 2024 – Toronto, ON – Scotiabank Arena
Feb. 26, 2024 – Raleigh. NC – PNC Arena
Feb. 29, 2024 – Cleveland, OH – Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse
According to the band, “all previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates. Refunds will be available for those unable to attend. Fans with questions regarding refunds are asked to reach out to their point of purchase.”
Aerosmith announced their farewell tour dates in May, stating, “It’s not goodbye it’s PEACE OUT! Get ready and walk this way, you’re going to get the best show of our lives.” Drummer Joey Kramer is not appearing with the band for these final dates. Regarding Kramer, the band said, “While Joey Kramer remains a beloved founding member of Aerosmith, he has regrettably made the decision to sit out the currently scheduled touring dates to focus his full attention on his family and health. Joey’s unmistakable and legendary presence behind the drum kit will be sorely missed.”
So far, the band’s tour dates that being a month from now are still a go. Moreover, the trek kicked off Sept. 2 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. For more information, visit Aerosmith’s website.
