Rock Star Goes on Profanity-Filled Rant Following Complaints About His Voice
Being a rock star isn’t always all that it’s cracked up to be. There’s a lot of pressure to always sound perfect and perform your best every night, for every concert. Sometimes, even if your voice isn’t in the best shape, you still have to perform to your best. It’s not always easy. Now, a legendary rock star is firing back at those who complained about his voice during a concert at London’s Wembley Stadium on Sept. 21.
‘If You Do Have Tickets You Wanna Get Rid Of, I’ll Gladly Take Them’
Liam Gallagher is gearing up for a major reunion run with his band Oasis, who have been broken up for decades. There’s a lot of buzz and excitement around the reunion, but after a performance from Gallagher on Saturday, Sept. 21, some fans have some questions about what to expect from the comeback run.
Gallagher, 52, performed ahead of the headlining boxing match between Daniel Dubois and Anthony Joshua at London’s Wembley Stadium on Saturday night, making it his first time doing a show since Oasis confirmed their upcoming reunion tour, Oasis Live ’25. Gallagher performed a range of of Oasis’ greatest hits off the group’s debut album, “Definitely Maybe,” including “Rock n Roll Star,” “Cigarettes and Alcohol” and “Supersonic.” While some fans seemed to love the performance and hearing those old Oasis songs, others took to social media to complain about the condition and sound of Gallagher’s voice.
As Far Out Magazine notes, some fans wrote that they wanted to return their Oasis tickets. “If you bought Oasis tickets. Get a refund,” one wrote, according to Far Out. Another attendee said, “How many people looking for refunds after listening to this utter garbage. Liam Gallagher is done. Sounds like some dodgy impersonator.”
Gallagher caught wind of the negative feedback and fired back on X, writing a profanity-laced rant that we have to censor per our writing standards. “To all those S*******S who were crying about my ANGELIC TONES last night you ain’t real fans your just IMPOSTERS,” he wrote, “And if you do have tickets you wanna get rid off I’ll gladly take them off your hands we don’t want the likes of you at our concerts next year any LF***ING.” Even with all the asterisks, you get the gist.
Sound Issues Could Have Been to Blame
The music experts at Sterogum noted that based on the videos from the performance, it appears Gallagher could been experiencing some sound issues. “He missed his cue going into ‘Supersonic,’ and he got a bit pitchy at times,” they noted. “But, speaking as an Oasis apologist myself, nobody is listening to Oasis because Liam Gallagher has a pretty voice. Sell your tickets if you must. I dare you.” They have a good point, that this could have absolutely been a technical issue. Either way, it’s not likely many Oasis fans will sell their much-coveted reunion tickets.
