AC/DC Announce Good News for 2025
Just call 2025 the year of AC/DC, because the legendary classic rock band is planning a lot of exciting things for the year. Late last year, AC/DC announced a run of concerts for 2025, and now, they’re back with more.
On Monday, February 3, AC/DC announced a handful of European concert dates for this summer as part of their high-profile Power Up trek.
New AC/DC Road Dates
The first date is set for June 26 in Prague, Czech Republic. After that show, the guys will tour in Germany, Poland, Italy and more, and then finally wrap up in Edinburgh, Scotland on August 21. Tickets for most of the newly-announced gigs will be available starting February 7.
Before hitting Europe, AC/DC will tour North America, marking their first tour dates in the U.S. in about 10 years. The last time AC/DC did a proper tour in the U.S., they had Axl Rose will in on vocals, becuase lead vocalist Brian Johnson was dealing with hearing issues. This time, Johnson is back in the fold. Meanwhile, AC/DC most recently played North America was in 2023 as part of the Power Trip festival in Indio, California.
AC/DC’s U.S. Power Up tour will feature 13 stadium shows that start April 10 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and run through a May 28 date in Cleveland, Ohio. The band’s current lineup brings together Johnson, Angus Young, Stevie Young, Matt Laug and Chris Chaney.
AC/DC’s most recent album 202’s “Power Up,” was named one of the best rock and metal records of 2020 by Audio Ink Radio.
“From start to finish, it’s apparent just how much AC/DC stuck to their traditional, straight-ahead rock roots on ‘Power Up,’ which is a good thing,” the review noted. “After all, your roots are always your roots. ‘Power Up’ lives up to the hype, delivering the album AC/DC fans have been hoping to hear since 2014’s ‘Rock or Bust.'”
Fans can expect to hear cuts off “Power Up” on the tour, as well as plenty of AC/DC classics. Taylor Momsen and The Pretty Reckless will open for AC/DC on most tour dates. The Pretty Reckless are touring behind their 2021 studio album, “Death by Rock and Roll.” The group has topped the rock charts with that album, including earning three No. 1 rock songs with “And So It Went” featuring Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and “Only Love Can Save Me Now” featuring Soundgarden’s Kim Thayil and Matt Cameron.
