Most Anticipated Rock Albums of 2025
As the year changes from 2024 to 2025, one of the most exciting aspects of a new year is all of the new music on the way. Many artists have already started teasing music fans with news of their new albums dropping in 2025, and it looks like it’s already shaping up to be a great year for rock and metal music. As we celebrate the dawn of a new year, Audio Ink Radio names its most anticipated rock albums of 2025.
The Most Anticipated Rock Albums (And Metal Albums) for 2025
Tremonti, “The End Will Show Us How”
Mark Tremonti has been busy with Creed’s big reunion in 2024, but he still found time to create new music with his Tremonti band. Now, the group releases a new album on January 10, which will mark their follow-up to 2021’s “Marching in Time.” It’s absolutely one of the most anticipated rock albums of 2025.
Dream Theater, “Parasomnia”
Progressive metal fans are surely counting down the moments util Dream Theater releases their “Parasomnia” album. On February 7, their follow-up to 2021’s “A View From the Top of the World” will arrive.
Jinjer, “Duél”
Ukrainian metal band Jinjer is one of the most celebrated female-led metal bands in the world right now. They release their highly-anticipated new album, “Duél,” on February 7, following up their acclaimed 2021 release, “Wallflowers.”
Lacuna Coil, “Sleepless Empire”
Another of the world’s biggest female-led metal bands, Lacuna Coil, also has a new release dropping in 2015. Italy’s Lacuna Coil will release “Sleepless Empire” on February 14, following up their 2019 release, “Black Anima.” Considering the band’s last released dropped five years ago, a new one is certainly anticipated by fans.
Killswitch Engage, “This Consequence”
As with Lacuna Coil, the metalcore guys of Killswitch Engage haven’t released a new album in about five years. That all changes on February 21, when they release “This Consequence,” marking their follow-up to 2019’s “Atonement.” It will be interesting to see if Killswitch go more melodic or hardcore on this release. It’s certainly one of the most anticipated rock albums of 2025.
Spiritbox, “Tsunami Sea”
Spiritbox have really taken the metal world by storm. The Canadian metal band seemed to come out of nowhere, and now, they’re Grammy-nominated. The band releases their much-anticipated follow-up to 2021’s “Eternal Blue” on March 7.
Alter Bridge, TBD
Okay, we don’t have a release date for Alter Bridge’s new album yet, but fans are ready. The band has been busy doing their Creed reunion, and vocalist Myles Kennedy recently released a new solo album, so they have their plates full. But, members have mentioned working on a new Alter Bridge album in 2025, so it’s possible we’ll at least get new music from them at some point in 2025. Their last release was 2022’s “Pawns and Kings.”
Bad Omens, TBD
Bad Omens is another “wish list” band on this tally. The group released their latest full-length album, “The Death of Peace of Mind,” and not only blew up on TikTok but snagged some chart-topping rock hits from the release. Bad Omens, since then, have played headlining shows all over the world. Fans can’t get new music from them soon enough, and considering how they they are right now, chances are it won’t be too long before we get another Bad Omens album. When they do release a new record, it’ll mark one of the most anticipated rock albums of the year.
