How amazing would it be to learn that one of your favorites bands who has been away forever is opening to reunion? Well, one vocalist is giving followers of his band some hope for an eventual reunion.

Let’s face it: Rock bands that break up almost always get back together. Not always, but bands such as Motley Crue and Kiss have set a precedent for breaking up and getting back together. So, it’s not far-fetched to think that any band out there could break up and get back together, even if there is tension between band members.

Now, longtime rock vocalist and guitarist Josh Homme is saying that one of his popular former bands could reunite.

A Reunion for a Legendary Rock Band Could Be in the Works

Homme has dropped the bombshell that the guys of Kyuss could reunite, stating that it’s “possible.” Homme, best known for being the vocalist and guitarist in Queens of the Stone Age, was asked about reuniting with Kyuss in a talk with YouTube fan channel “Kyuss World.” The full interview can be streamed via the YouTube player below.

The band members haven’t been playing nice the past few years, so it was a bit of a surprise that Homme said it was possible for a reunion. Homme and his former bandmates have not always gotten along, and he even sought legal action against their use of the Kyuss name, as Consequence points out.

“I know I thought about it many times… I think about it,” Homme said when talking about getting back together with Kyuss (as transcribed by rock news publication Blabbermouth). “I’ve actually talked about it a few times to people that help me do stuff.”

He went on to talk about the friction in the band the past few years, stating, “I don’t know. I just feel like the punctuation of Kyuss — it was such a perfect little unit, and it ended the way it should. And was totally in support of what was happening in ‘Kyuss Lives!’ and things like that.”

He added, “It was just [that] there were some tricky things that were pulled… I think it’s good for people to know what happened. But it always left me with a strange feeling, because it’s, like, you wanna set things right. And plus I just don’t think it’s good… There’s no reason to hold on to anything negative. I don’t have negative feelings about anybody. None of that stuff matters. So, yeah, it’s possible.”

Homme is referring to how Kyuss members Nick Oliveri, John Garcia and Brant Bjork were going to tour back in 2010 under the name Kyuss Lives!, but Homme and Kyuss’ second bass player Scott Reader took legal action and stopped it from happening. So, the band members instead used the moniker Vista Chino.

Well, right now, Homme is busy with Queens of the Stone Age. He has a North American theater tour going on with the band inspired by the group’s recent concert move, “Alive in the Catacombs.”
