Staind Announce 15-Date Winter U.S. Tour
Aaron Lewis and company fit in a small tour before Christmas
When Aaron Lewis and the men of Staind released their latest, self-titled album this past September without a coinciding North American tour, they promised fans a proper trek was just around the bend. Now, the post-grunge rock band are making good on that guarantee, as they’ve worked up a handful of tour dates before Christmas bells start ringing.
The hard rockers will take hits such as “Not Again” and “It’s Been a While” on a run starting Nov. 25 in Uncasville, Ct., and closing out Dec. 16 in Biloxi, Miss. With only 15 dates, it’s a select tour, but speaking exclusively with Audio Ink Radio, frontman Aaron Lewis pledged the band would do a large-scale tour in 2012.
Lewis added that the band’s new album is their darkest in the reservoir of Staind LPs and, in some ways, similar to the feel of 1999’s Dysfunction. “… During the recording process of Dysfunction, there was a nervous, anticipating, excited fear of the unknown,” he said. “The energy in the studio while we were recording was tangible and captured on tape. On this record, it was the frustration and the unknowing — and all in a negative way — that was also captured on tape.”
Lewis added that Staind have always stayed true to their musical foresight. “We’ve always tried as hard as we could to not let anybody’s visions or interpretations be allowed to be applied to us in any way,” he asserted, “and we’ve always stayed very true to ourselves, and we’ve never gotten sucked into the over exposure machine.” Read our full interview with Lewis, here.
