Foo Fighters Raise $10 Million for San Francisco Children’s Hospitals
A recent Foo Fighters gig helped raise $10 million for a good cause
Foo Fighters are a powerful draw, and the guys recently used that star power for a good cause. While on the road for their “Sonic Highways” tour, the band made the time to perform at a charity concert in San Francisco on Thursday (Sept. 17) in conjunction with the city’s Dreamforce conference. The gig helped raise a whopping $10 million for the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals, reports ABC San Francisco affiliate KGO-TV.
“I don’t think there’s ever been a night where $10 million has been raised for a children’s hospital ever before,” said Marc Benioff of the hospital.
In the past five years, the Dreamforce conference has brought in $36 million for the hospitals.
In other news, Foo Fighters are continuing on their North American tour in support of “Sonic Highways.” The current leg of the band’s tour will wrap up on Oct 18 in Castaic, California. Then, frontman Dave Grohl and company will jet off to Europe for a tour. To view the band’s upcoming tour roster, visit the FooFighters.com.
