Knotfest Iowa 2021: Slipknot, Gojira, Lamb of God, Trivium and More
Slipknot will host a bill of heavy-hitters for their Knotfest Iowa 2021 festival
Following a one-year hiatus, Knotfest is back and ready to rage. The Slipknot-spearheaded festival has unveiled its 2021 lineup, and the bill features headliners Slipknot, as well as Megadeth, Faith No More, Lamb of God and more.
The one-day show will take place Sept. 25 at the National Balloon Classic Field in Indianola, Iowa, roughly 14 miles south of Slipknot’s home turf of Des Moines. In addition to the headliners, this year’s bill includes an array of metal bands, such as Gojira, $Suicideboy$, Trivium, Tech N9ne, Fever 333, Knocked Loose, Turnstile and Gatecreeper. The bill also features Vended, the band featuring Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor’s son Griffin and Clown’s son Simon.
“A home show is always insane, but a home Knotfest show will be on a whole other level. Prepare. See you soon for the new reality. Stay (sic),” Clown said in a statement of Knotfest’s 2021 return.
Tickets for Knotfest go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. CT on June 4 via the Knotfest Iowa website. Pre-sale tickets are available for to snag now via Knotfest.com for subscribers.
In addition to the Knotfest announcement, Slipknot are sharing that the band has officially started work on their upcoming album. The band announced that they returned to the studio last month to begin writing and recording their follow-up to 2019’s “We Are Not Your Kind.”
Slipknot also announced that the Knotfest website is “absorbing” the band’s Outside the 9 fan club and will “offer fans of both Slipknot and heavy culture in general, the opportunity to gain access to a wealth of exclusive content and opportunities first.” Some goodies include behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the band’s new album, priority access to Slipknot’s headlining shows, access to enhanced content on the Knotfest website and more.
