Memphis-based hard rock band Skillet are celebrating their first-ever #1 Active Rock song with “Awake and Alive,” which went from #4 to #1 this week, reports Billboard. In the Active Rock chart’s 14-year history, this is the first of the chart’s 143 #1 songs to feature female vocals, as drummer Jen Ledger sings with the group’s frontman John Cooper on the track.
