Blindside jet to the U.S. to play the ‘Shivering Hearts Tour’

Stockholm, Sweden-based metal band Blindside have always brought together the polar opposites of brooding, dark musical textures and cathartic, hope-filled lyrics, and the band continues that trend with their latest single, “Our Love Saves Us,” and the just-released music video. The song arrives from the group’s sixth release, With Shivering Hearts We Wait, out last June, and the band is touring the U.S. in support of the release throughout September.

Metal and rock producer Howard Benson (Flyleaf, Daughtry) worked with singer Christian Lindskog, guitarist Simon Grenehed, bass player Tomas Näslund and drummer Marcus Dahlström on the album. Benson is an old friend, having produced Blindside’s debut, 2002’s Silence. The result is a style that recalls Blindeside’s earlier recordings, concocting a corpus of striking hardcore and metal songs, while maintaining the band’s spiritual pledge and passion unbroken.

“We had a lot of fans on our Facebook page asking us to make a new video, so we made one,” vocalist Christian Lindskog told AOL Noisecreep. “We have a good friend named Marcus von Boisman, who is a great film maker, and together we worked up this idea about facing fear and finding love. Through the process of writing this record and recording it, we have been talking about ideas for film.”

He added that the band wanted to do more than “the usual three minute performance video. We actually wrote a treatment for a full length film for this album. We started shooting a kind of visual storybook that we were going to put out with the record, but these things take time and money and sometimes you just need to start somewhere so this video in a way it is just a start of something we hope we can grow.”
