Courtney Love’s Hole plans a gig in New York this week

Courtney Love is all over the news lately, thanks to her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, getting engaged, apparently, to Los Angeles rock boy Isaiah Silva from the band the Rambles. Add to that buzz from Love recently canceling an appearance at Australia’s Soundwave Festival, since she was less than thrilled with Hole’s billing below Fred Durst and Limp Bizkit, and you have Love back in the spotlight, in full-force. Now, Love and her ‘90s alternative rock collective will play their first show in over a year Wednesday (Nov. 9) in New York City. The gig is being billed a “secret show,” but the secret’s out.

Scott Lipps, president of One Management, tweeted the news: “This Wednesday night @Courtney @Holerock @CBabymichelle secret show, NYC…stay tuned…@Nurkhan1.” He followed up that tweet with another confirmation of the gig this morning (Nov. 8), stating that he’s headed to “work, then off to rehearsals with @Holerock @Courtney @CBabymichelle for tomorrows show and #Brazil…” From the tweets, it sounds like this is a warm-up gig for Hole’s upcoming overseas appearances.

Meanwhile, Love has announced that she “will set the record straight” about her relationship with late Nirvana frontman Kirt Cobain and her experience in the 1990s grunge scene in a forthcoming, yet-to-be-titled tell-all book, scheduled to arrive on William Morrow, an imprint of publisher Harper Collins. She’s promoting it as a “tell-all” memoir, and the autobiography is likely to reach store shelves as early as the end of this year. Will it arrive in time for grunge-minded Christmas shoppers? We shall see.
