Radiohead main man releases two solo tracks online

Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, never one to rest on his laurels, has posted two fresh tracks online. The songs, called “Twist” and “Stuck Together,” came together for a fashion show for U.S. clothing label, “Rag and Bone,” last year. “Stuck Together” even features Radiohead six-stringer Jonny Greenwood, making this freebie an alternative addiction for any Radiohead fan. Sample the songs, below.

Radiohead are no strangers to unorthodox ways of getting their music out and spontaneous releases, such as this one. Yorke and company famously released their seventh studio album, “In Rainbows,” as a self-released digital download in October of 2007, where customers could casually order for any price they saw fit. At the time, this was nearly unheard-of in the industry. The album’s traditional CD release came at the end of 2007, but the move set a new precedent for artists — both new bands and old — who desired to go out on their own and release music their own unique way.

Radiohead are getting revved up to play a world tour in 2012– their first full-scale tour in North America since “In Rainbows.” The jaunt, which is obviously met with oodles of excitement from Radiohead diehards, kicks off in Miami on Feb. 27, roughly one year after the issue of Radiohead’s latest album, “The King of Limbs.” The U.S. portion of the tour is set to close out March 15 in Glendale, Ariz. Most dates feature Oklahoma indie rockers Other Lives opening. Find the full list of tour dates on Radiohead’s artist page.
