Ramones fans, take note: “…Ya Know?,” the upcoming post-obit solo album from late Ramones frontman Joey Ramone, is on the way. The collection, out May 22, features 17 tracks that the famed singer taped as demos, and those songs were recently completed by longstanding Ramones producer Ed Stasium and other players. Find full details about the release via Joey Ramone’s official site.

The Ramones were the original, down-and-dirty punk rock band, and this array of songs features appearances from numerous guest musicians who wanted to pay their respects to Joey Ramone and his legacy. Joan Jett , Cheap Trick’s Bun E. Carlos, E Street Band guitarist Little Steven Van Zandt , the Patti Smith Group ‘s Lenny Kaye, the Smithereens ‘ Dennis Diken and former Ramones drummer Richie Ramone are among the names on the set, and each overdubbed parts to the original songs.

Can’t wait until may to hear some Ramones? A limited-edition, 7-inch vinyl single of the song “Rock ‘n’ Roll Is the Answer” will arrive on April 21 as part of Record Store Day’s release roster. Record Store Day happens the third Saturday of every April, and it’s a day set aside to bring together independently owned record stores to celebrate the art of music. Adding to the hoopla, this year’s production of the annual Joey Ramone Birthday Bash will take place May 19 at The Studio at Webster Hall in New York City, and various artists are being booked to perform songs off “…Ya Know?” Joey Ramone passed away April 15, 2001, after losing a battle with lymphoma. He was 49.
