Tool’s New Album to Arrive in May of 2012?
Message on Tool’s official site promises new music by mid-May
Tool got together earlier this year to play a handful of live shows, much to the delight of the prog-rock band’s fans, but guys in the band didn’t even whisper a mention of new music. Now, we’ve dug up a note that Tool posted last year, announcing that they will unleash their upcoming, fifth studio album in May of 2012.
If the guys weren’t just playing around, the upcoming release would be the first new studio album from Tool since 2006’s “10,000 Days.” But, considering a lot has happened since last year, we aren’t necessarily holding our breaths for the new songs. Only time will tell.
As character for Tool, Maynard James Keenan and the gentlemen made the statement in a mysterious newsletter message on their official website. While Tool goes off the topic of music for most of the note, the guys do offer a date for the arrival of their new album. Check out the full note, here.
As for the part of the newsletter that mentions new Tool, it states, “No matter how many new Tool tunes are currently complete, I will personally guarantee that the new CD will be released on May 22, 2012 (or May 15, 2012). And unlike that old … rattling the shingles with his cauliflower and mini-Cheddars flatulence, my calculation is not based on some preposterous coded Biblical numerology. Instead, it comes from a credible source who, himself, obtained the information via trance-contact (which was written down on a scratch pad) from an interplanetary avatar (and sector commander) named ZEMKLA JR. from the city of Farlon on the planet Selo (in the Bernard’s Star System).”
