Adele promises new song by the end of 2012

Adele’s latest album, “21,” is still killing it on the charts, so it’s no surprise the singer is waiting a while before releasing another big album. Speaking with the French radio station NRJ, the Adele dished that she’ll have a new song out by the end of 2012, but her follow-up to “21” won’t come out for another two years.

“There’ll be a new song probably coming out at the end of the year,” Adele said, before injecting that her next full-length won’t arrive for another two years, if not longer. “I have to write another record,” she said. “If I didn’t write my own songs, I’d be out next week with a new album. But, because I write my own songs, I have to take time and live a little bit… It was a good two years before my first and second albums, so it’ll be the same this time.”

Don’t think the wait has something to do with Adele stressing about a follow-up to her massive “21.” The singer says she doesn’t feel any pressure to outdo her past success on the upcoming release. “You know, I never, ever expected the success of my first album, either, let alone now many record’s this one’s sold,” she said. “So I don’t think I’ll ever feel the pressure for my next record to be as big as the last one, because I know it’s not really possible, and what happened with this one is very rare anyway.”
