Passion Pit hold off on July and August tour dates to give Michael Angelakos some time off

Passion Pit fans will have to wait a tad longer to check out the guys in concert. Michael Angelakos, frontman for the alternative rock band, needs to take some time off from the band to deal with personal issues. Following the canceling all of their July tour dates last week, the group has dropped the news that they are going to put a nix to three more gigs in August to give Angelakos some time to tend to his “mental health” issues.

“Thanks to everyone for all of their love and support throughout these past couple weeks,” the band posted on their official website. “While we’re excited to see you over the next two weekends at Lollapalooza, Osheaga and Outside Lands, we’re sorry to let you know that we need to postpone our upcoming weekday shows in Colorado and Salt Lake City in order for Michael to continue to improve his mental health and complete a procedure that week.”

Rest assured, fans, that the guys promise they’re working to re-book canceled shows for this fall. “We know that this is disappointing to fans who were planning on coming to these shows, and we want you to know we’re doing everything we can to try and make it up to you… We appreciate everyone’s support and patience. We’ll see you soon.” Being in a band can be overwhelming. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Angelakos for a quick recovery.

Passion Pit’s next gig is set for the House of Blues in Chicago on Aug. 2. For a list of current tour dates, visit the band’s tour page.
