Alter Bridge and Creed’s Mark Tremonti Names Favorite Soundgarden Album

Story by Charles Ken
Mark Tremonti describes his love for grunge rockers Soundgarden
Mark Tremonti rose to fame as the lead guitarist for post-grunge heavyweights Creed. Now, Tremonti keeps busy juggling duties with Creed, his other band Alter Bridge and his solo project. Even with a jam-packed schedule, Tremonti recently had some time to reflect on the first time he ever heard Soundgarden, and he says he was a big fan from the get-go.
“I was a big fan when I saw the video for ‘Loud Love,’ Tremonti told Artist Direct. “I immediately went out and bought ‘Louder Than Love.’ I fell in love with it. Then, I bought ‘Ultramega OK’ and all of the records out at the time. Chris Cornell became my favorite singer for years and years. I’ve always loved Soundgarden and still do.”
Tremonti then dished on his all-time favorite Soundgarden album: “My favorite record would probably still be ‘Louder Than Love.’”
Soundgarden’s much-anticipated new release, “King Animal,” is set to hit stores on Nov. 13. The album is the follow-up to Soundgarden’s 1996 album, “Down on the Upside.”
