Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced an interesting summer gig: Dalai Lama’s Environmental Summit
Red Hot Chili Peppers have been added to the lineup for the Dalai Lama’s Environmental Summit, which is set to happen May 9-11 at Maitripa College in Portland, Ore. As for what to expect from the show, the concert’s website promises a “special musical performance” from the Peppers on May 11 with the goal to inspire “future generations to care for our planet.”
As for the rest of this summer, the Chili Peppers will be busy. The guys have signed on to play Metallica’s Orion Music + More festival, which is slated to take place June 8-9 on Detroit’s Belle Isle. Other acts on the bill include Metallica, Rise Against, Deftones, Bassnectar, the Joy Formidable, Death Grips, the Dirtbombs, Death, Battlecross, Foals and Tomahawk, to name a few.
In addition, the band recently dropped the news that they will be one of the headliners for the 2013 Outside Lands festival, which takes place August 9-11 at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. The Peppers will join a long list of other bands booked for Outside Lands, including Nine Inch Nails, Paul McCartney, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the National, Grizzly Bear, Young the Giant, Band of Horses and Atlas Genius, among others.
