Watch ‘Little Green Amp,’ the latest offering from Kinks guitarist Dave Davies

This summer is shaping up to be an active one for Kinks guitarist Dave Davies, as the founding band member is prepping to release his latest solo album, “I Will Be Me,” and set off on a U.S. tour in support of the release. This week, Davies unveiled a new music video for the album’s debut single, “Little Green Amp,” which can be viewed below.

As the story goes, “Little Green Amp” is a tribute of sorts to the legendary guitar amplifier whose speaker Davies slashed with a razor blade to get the trademark distorted crunch apparent on Kinks tunes such as “All Day and All of the Night” and “You Really Got Me.” The video offers footage of different spots around London, as well as Davies jumping into the screen on occasion.

Davies recorded “Little Green Amp” with legendary punk group Anti-Flag. He enlisted several guest musicians for the album, to boot.

As for the rocker’s upcoming tour, that kicks off with a three-night run at the City Winery in New York City this week, with the rest of his tour running through a June 11 show in Del Mar, Calif. For the full tour roster, visit Davies’ official website.

“I Will Be Me” will hit stores and online outlets on June 4.
