Pop Stars Have the Most Brand Power, According to New Study

What musicians have the most brand power? Pop acts

When it comes to musicians with lots of brand power, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that pop stars top the list. According to U.K marketing and advertising magazine The Drum, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Beyonce are among the best celebrities to draw sponsors and advertising. One the deal is done, when their name or face is associated with a product, consumers are more likely to buy it.

Both Swift and Perry have been CoverGirl spokesmodels. In addition, Swift has snagged endorsement deals with Diet Coke and Keds sneakers, while Perry has endorsed Pepsi, Proactiv and Popchips. Beyonce pretty much does it all.

Beyonce landed at the No. 1 spot on the list, while Swift landed at No. 5 and Perry snagged No. 12. Other celebrities with the most brand power are Oprah Winfrey, LeBron James and Ellen DeGeneres. A few other pop stars also made the cut: Jennifer Lopez (No. 13) and Rihanna (No. 16). Notably missing on the tally were any rockers.

The list was compiled using information from the London School of Marketing on the celebrities’ personal wealth, sponsorship earnings and social media presence.
