Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters urged fans to sign a petition to get Oasis back together during the Foos’ set at Reading, but the Gallagher brothers aren’t impressed

At Foo Fighters’ headlining performance at the U.K.’s Reading festival last weekend, Dave Grohl and the guys mentioned wanting to get Oasis back together and actually asked the audience to sign a petition to get the Gallagher brothers, who haven’t been on speaking terms for years, back together.

So, did it work? Not so much. One of the Gallagher brothers heard the pitch from Foo Fighters and, apparently, was not impressed.

At a concert in San Diego last week, Noel Gallagher took a break from the music to mention the Foo Fighters’ request. He had some sarcastic comments about the whole thing.

“Is anyone going to sign the petition Dave Grohl wants to get together to get us back together?” he said between songs.

Gallagher then stated, “I’d like to start a petition to get the Foo Fighters to split up, if that would be at all possible.” He added, joking, that the petition was at his merchandise booth and ready to sign. That said, it sounds like the answer to an Oasis reunion is a resounding “no.”

Gallagher’s onstage reply was captured by a Reddit user and posted to the site. Watch footage here.

Gallagher and his group High Flying Birds are on a cross-country U.S. tour with Billy Corgan and Smashing Pumpkins and AFI. The tour just wrapped up Saturday (August 31) in Mountain View, California.
